Our Presenters, Volunteers and Directors

A full and concise list of all presenters, directors and volunteers, detailing their programmes will be here shortly, accompanied by photographs that we are currently awaiting from the local police force.

Charles Dewhurst (No Celtic Boundaries)
Charles Dewhurst
Broadcasting his weekly show, in addition to Lochbroom FM, on average 17 times per week around the world. Charles, a direct descendant of Scottish Fiddle player, Niel Gow, brings some of the best in Celtic Music from around the world featuring interviews with some of the worlds leading Celtic musicians.

Rena Maguire (No Celtic Boundaries)
Having just joined No Celtic Boundaries, Rena (from Belfast) has proved to Charles she can be as big a pain in the backside as Gemma McGee ever was, but apart from all her self opinionated ways she has great insight into the music scene in Northern Ireland. However do not ask her to interview Westlife !!!

Darren Boa
Darren has been involved in Lochbroom FM since the age of 12 and was trained up until he was confident enought to do his own show which he did with his cousin Gavin. It was not until the radio needed "change" in 2005 when he decided he would take on the role of doing one of the radio's most crucial progammes the evening show which was live with news, weather, road report and much more.

Seamus Charity
Seamus was one of 22 pupils who was taken out of school to be shown around the station and shown how the radio works. Seamus was so keen to get involved he approached Darren Boa who set up the visit and was so enthusiactic to get involved that Darren decided he could use an assistant on his Tuesday evening show in which Seamus was slowly trained up to keep as confident as possible.

Big 'Al' from Shoalhaven / Triple U FM (Paddys Bar)

Big Al's Irish program, Paddy's Bar, highlights music from Ireland's leading contemporary artists and showbands. The program, which is funded by a series of Federal Government grants (in Australia), is very popular with listeners of all nationalities in the Shoalhaven region of Australia. Big Al's Irish program Paddy's Bar is also being aired on Scottish radio station, Lochbroom FM.

George and Agnes Ferrier
George and 'Aggie' host a number of prorammes covering the morning breakfast show to their own Scots and Irish show. Behind the scenes Aggie does a huge amount of work within the station organising and scheduling programmes.

Alice Boden (Alice on Track and Nocturne)
"Alice first broke the "sound barrier", (i.e.getting over that universal loathing of the sound of your own voice!), many years ago by recording books onto tape for the library of the Royal National Institute for the Blind. For Lochbroom FM she has produced and presented a range of programmes over the years, including drive time shows, magazine prgrammes, a short story competition and various music shows. Her current shows are the totally eclectic lucky dip which is "Alice on Track" and the classical music hour, "Nocturne."

Fran Harrison (Chairperson)

Fran has done a remarkable job along with fellow directors in rebuilding Lochbroom FM. Her role knows no bounds from tea lady to organising just about everything going. There is only one role left for Fran to fill and that is as a presenter. She has flatly refused to do the morning shows. " I do not do mornings" she frequently announces meaning her bed is her sanctuary.

George Macrae (Director and Presenter)
George presents his Scots and Irish show here on Lochbroom FM. More details to follow.

Andy Bluefield (Director)
Andy is another of our directors who would appear to be slightly 'shy' of the microphone. Like Fran though he does a huge amount of work behind the scenes. He has also very kindly allowed the use of some of the amazing photographs that you see in the site. In the photograph above we are not sure who his two legged friend is.
